Built on one key

Four teams among the 1,000+ building on TickerLayer, and what changed for them. No names, no quotes, and no figure we did not measure ourselves.

The oracle network that needed more than crypto

A decentralized oracle network puts real-world prices on-chain for the protocols built on top of it. Its node operators need far more than coin prices: gold and crude, the major indices, the big currency pairs and government bond yields.

Before

Most data sources stop at crypto, and the ones that go further rarely say exactly when a price was observed or what happens when the source goes quiet. For a network that settles value on those numbers, a socket dropping during a vendor release was not an inconvenience; it was an incident.

After

Every asset class they asked for now arrives on one TickerLayer stream, with the observation time on every frame. Releases roll behind a gateway so their sockets never notice, an independent witness checks every cutover, and when a market is closed the feed says so instead of falling silent.

  • 7asset classes on a single stream
  • 0dropped subscriptions across every witnessed release
  • Every releaseverified by an independent witness before we call it done

Retail trading tools

The charting platform whose candles finally matched the broker screen

A European charting platform serves retail traders who keep their broker app open in the next tab and compare every candle against it.

Before

Their US intraday candles showed only a slice of the day's volume, so a bar that looked busy on the broker screen looked thin on the platform. A trading halt appeared as a mysterious flat line. Users noticed, and support heard about it every morning.

After

Live-day candles now carry consolidated volume, hourly bars line up with the session open, and a halt shows as an event on the chart with a reason attached. The candle on the platform and the candle on the broker screen finally tell the same story.

  • 94%of consolidated volume on live-day candles, up from 3%
  • 1 socketfor quotes, trades and halt events
  • Every haltshown as an event with a reason, never as a gap

Consumer AI

The assistant that answers "what is gold doing" with a timestamp

A consumer AI assistant whose users ask about markets the way they would ask a friend: what is gold doing, how did my watchlist open, is the market even open right now.

Before

Those users would never paste an API key into a chat window. Connecting a data source had to feel like signing in to any other app, and every answer needed to say how fresh the number was, or the assistant would sound confident about a stale price.

After

Users now connect TickerLayer with a single consent screen, verify their email without leaving the flow, and get live prices with the observation time attached to every value. New accounts land on the free tier automatically, so the first answer costs nobody anything.

  • 1 screenfrom "connect" to the first answer
  • 0 keyspasted into a chat, ever
  • Every answercarries the moment the price was observed

Alerting and signals

The signal service that stopped firing late

A signal service for active forex and commodities traders: when a level breaks, subscribers get an alert and act on it within seconds.

Before

Alerts were computed on polled snapshots. On a fast day the trigger fired late, and sometimes on a value the market had already left behind. Along the way they asked whether the feed could be tuned to make their rules look better in testing.

After

Rules now run on the live tick stream with a reserved connection through every release, and session status keeps them quiet when a market is paused. The feed stays exactly as it trades: we said no to shaping it, and their subscribers see the same prices their backtests did.

  • Every tickreaches the rule engine as it happens
  • Reserved seaton the stream through every release
  • As it tradesthe feed, never tuned to flatter a strategy
