Frequently asked questions
Are all listed symbols included in every package?
Not always. The symbols shown here represent overall coverage, but what you can actually call depends on your plan, the data feeds you have enabled, and your account entitlements. If you are unsure whether a specific symbol or market is included, contact us and we can confirm the right package for your use case.
Can I request a missing symbol or market?
Yes. If you cannot find the symbol, asset class, or market coverage you need, send us your use case and we will review it. TickerLayer evaluates new symbols and markets through aggregation and demand-based access, so requests from real integrations directly help shape what we add next.
Can I use these symbols with REST and WebSocket?
All supported symbols work with the TickerLayer REST endpoints, which is the best place to start. WebSocket streaming is available for many asset classes, but exact channel coverage depends on the instrument and your enabled package. The API documentation lists the current channels and the request format for each feed.
Why can the API format differ from the symbol shown here?
This directory is optimized for quick discovery and readability, so symbols are shown in a friendly form. Some API routes use a more explicit, market-qualified format to avoid ambiguity when similar codes exist across regions or instruments. When you make requests, always follow the exact format in the API documentation.
Can I redistribute TickerLayer data?
TickerLayer data is licensed for use inside your own product or workflow. Redistributing, reselling, publicly displaying, or sharing it with third parties requires explicit written permission or a separate agreement. If your use case involves any of these, contact us first so we can set up the right terms.
Is this official exchange data?
No. TickerLayer provides indicative market data intended for informational, analytical, and integration use. It is reliable for building dashboards, tools, and product features, but it should not be presented to your users as official, exchange-sourced data or used as a system of record for regulated workflows.
